On wednesday 21st of December come and join us on the 2nd floor of the Dunedin Public Library!
Bring any comics and ideas you’ve been working on and have a draw, exchange ideas and advice and have a whole bunch of fun! At the end of the night you can take home a copy of the anthology we do, DUDzine #4: BAT
There will be cartoonists galore as well as food and drink and musical performances by Kilmog (formerly Bad Horsey) http://www.myspace.com/531341192
and Reuben Henderson http://soundcloud.com/user9788752
This will also be the chance for a sneak peak at DUD: The Dunedin Comic Revue #3 which is due out next month!
If you can’t make it but want to be included email your comica/drawings to dunedincc@gmail.com (zipped 300dpi grayscale tiffs would be ideal)

We are excited to be now taking submissions for DUD no.3.
If you wish to submit for DUD#03 you must email or get in touch by the 5th July with a brief outline of what you intend to do (ie: page count and description). There is only limited space in each issue so its important that we can get a feel for what content is available early on in order to assemble a well rounded publication.
Please note also that ALL work needs to be with us by 5pm 6th August 2011.

If you would like to submit please read the guidelines in the link below (available as pdf to download):
DUD_03_SUB_GUIDELINES (pdf)
We have provided a dual template if you wish to use it. Please be aware that there are size restrictions which enable us to maintain a consistency for the final publication:
DUD_03_SUB_TEMPLATE (pdf)
If you have any issues please contact us at < dunedincc@gmail.com >.

If you would like the have a go also at being on the cover of DUD no.3, please refer to our competition which is due by Friday 29th of July.

The Dunedin Comic Collective are putting out a zine which is not exclusive to just comics either! So far some favourites from the folds of the Collective have put together some comics and sketchbook pages, and we’ve also got quite a bit of fresh comic talent coming to the party.
The submissions can be anything; articles, music, instructions, poetry, drawings, diagrams, competitions, recipes and more all within the confines of a beautifully silkscreened cover (except the music, you have to download that).
If you (or you have a sneaking suspicion that someone you know might) want to submit one of the above, or something we haven’t thought of (maybe a treasure map?!) send it to us and we’ll consider publishing it!
The finished zine will be for sale for a couple of bucks and is being released on June 17th at Cellars Bar with the musical stylings of the very talented:
- Opposite Sex - QTPI - Ax Handal
- Killmore Girls - Max WAOTS - Sewage
To submit:
Email us at < dunedincc@gmail.com >
- Make “PUT ME IN YOUR DUDZINE” the email subject
- Make your name and the title of your submission the body of your email, along with a bit about yourself if you want.
- Attach your submission compressed into either a rar or zip.
- Pictures etc: Submissions must be a greyscale or bitmap tiff and at least 300 dpi, 210 by 148 mm
- Text: Doc or Docx please (but if you have nice handwriting why not write and scan it?)
- Music: Wav files (but don’t be too disappointed if you don’t get on the comp download, we’ve got most of the songs sussed already)
Submissions close June 17th
Any questions, email us and ask
Spencer Hall was recently interviewed by Dan Brader of Renegade House about the Dunedin Comic Collective and DUD: The Dunedin Comic Revue. Check it out here!
Here’s a video from our wonderful launch at the teen space at the Dunedin Public Library. It’s John White (Mestar) performing ‘Bumble Tree’ with a speech by founders Spencer and Daniel at the end. Great event with plenty of copies sold!
